Mossel Bay Interviews with Tourists

Mossel Bay Interviews with Tourists

Christelle Kleynhans, the new journalist of the Lalakoi Publishing Network, went out and about in Mossel Bay and Hartenbos to ask the holidaymakers about their experience of the holiday season in the Garden Route of South Africa!

It was a loving sunny summer’s morning on the 11th of January 2011 when I took my camera and writing pad and headed down to the beach to chat to some of the holidaymakers and tourists visiting our lovely area!

Hartenbos BeachAfter stopping at numerous holidaymakers along the way, I spoke to Jan Harmse, a regular holidaymaker from Vredenburg in South Africa.

Where are you from:
Vredenburg
How often do you visit the Mossel Bay?
This is our fourth year visiting this area.

Where do you live when visiting the area?

We like to camp here in Hartenbos.
How long do you stay here?
We normally stay for 2 weeks.
Do you enjoy some of the activities that Mossel Bay offer during your stay?
We mostly just enjoy the beach and explore the area.
How did you experience the weather?
We enjoyed the weather although it was a bit more up and down  than previous years. There were more clouds,  but the wind was not as bad as previously.

Bay View Tourists ParaglidingMy last stop was at the Bayview parking area where I spotted a few tourists paragliding down the sand dunes exploring the wind and sun at Mossel Bay. I was so fortunate to have met a friendly group of tourists all the way from France. I managed to speak to Marguerite Chausset.

Where are you from:
We are from France.
How often do you visit the Mossel Bay?
This is our very first visit to South Africa, and we are enjoying it so much. The South African locals are very friendly people. We visited Cape Town, Plettenberg Bay, George and Mossel Bay on our visit to South Africa.

Where do you live when visiting the area?

We are staying at a lodge in George and this afternoon we are heading back to Cape Town to catch a flight back home.
How long do you stay here?
We only came for 10 days. We mainly came to do some paragliding and really enjoyed it!
How did you experience the weather?
The weather was rather good and it enabled us to do quite a bit of flying which we loved!

As we can see the holidaymakers are enjoying the weather and on a sunny summer’s day like today you can find them mostly on the beach and exploring the waves!
